The Garcias, a trio of Mexican cousins, form a vibrant band playing Latin rhythms. Alberto, the only immigrant, lives in Kingston, while Juan Carlos and Carlos reside in Mexico, reuniting each summer for their music. Alberto, a skilled violin craftsman, ventured to Canada in 2007 after a breakup. Arriving in Montreal with no French and rudimentary English, he hustled into any work available, always striving to sell the violin he had brought to fund his craft. Settling in Kingston in 2009, he dedicated himself to violin making. Convincing his cousin in Mexico to join, they debuted in Kingston in 2019, starting small but growing. Now a known act, they return each summer, aiming to expand beyond Kingston, already performing in nearby towns and cities like Niagara and Ottawa, building their musical legacy.
